A Wedding Card!

Good afternoon all!
I hope everyone is well & looking forward to the weekend!
We're heading off out to a wedding tomorrow.
I thought I'd share the card I made with you all!

I used a white linen embossed square card blank for the base.
The image is Bethy's Wedding from Mo Manning
I think it's just perfect for a summer wedding!
I used my Promarkers to colour it up!
I then cut it out with a scalloped square nestie.
The layout was my own & the papers are from a candy I won!
I used a coordinating paper to matt the design papers on to!

To compliment the papers, I added a small Swirls embossed border.
I distressed this using Tim Holtz Distress ink.
I added some ribbon from my stash which I tied round, finishing with a bow.

I added a little arrangement of flowers & leaves  which are from Sweet Pea Polly's
& I tucked a little bow underneath

The cute little ticket sentiment is from The Crafty Pad Designs.
I used a Promarker to highlight & distressed the edges with ink.
I added the  little rose, just to balance things out!
Thanks for looking, I hope you like it!

I'd like to put this card forward for the following challenges

Another Afternoon At The Edinburgh Fringe

Hi all!
We spent another lovely afternoon at the Edinburgh Fringe!
We started off with lunch at a little van opposite the Assembly in George Square!
Fantastic Moules Frites & a yummy Innes & Gunn beer!
They were delicious, great value & served by two lovely ladies
who are obviously really happy about working at The Fringe!
The sun was out too which always adds to the occasion!

Shows we took in today?
Only the two but we did do a lot of celeb spotting & soaking up the atmos!

 The first was Zanzibzbar Cats,
poetry by Heathcote Williams & performed by
Roy Hutchins

If you like poetry at all this is a fab show!
An eclectic mix of subjects beautifully delivered!

The second show was The Prodigals!

The biblical story of The Prodigal Son
told in a modern style with lively dance, music & awesome acting!
Not to be missed!
Fellow audience members were heard to say
"It was a bit to West End Musically for me"!
No Joke!
The thing we love most about the Edinburgh Festival & Fringe is???
We don't have to leave our home town to visit it!
Thanks for stopping by!

A Wedding Invitation!

Hi all,
I'm pretty sure that the invitations have all been sent out so I'm now safe to
share these little Wedding Invitations that I made for a friend with you today!

Day invitation
The images were all sourced using Google Images
We had great fun working out the final design!
After numerous drafts & changes of heart, this is what we decided upon!
I arranged the images in my graphics programme & added the wording.
The font I've used is Pristina.
I'm pretty certain it was already installed on my laptop
but you can download it for free here
I used good quality A6 Linen embossed card blanks from Southfield Stationers.

Day Insert
The inserts were printed onto plain paper inserts also from
The quality of these is lovely too!
I've blurred out the details but wanted to let you see the wording inside.

Evening Invitation.
As you can see the design is the same as the Day Invitation

Evening Insert
Again I've blurred out the details

I also made some little place cards for the tables using the same images
but unfortunately I don't have a photo of them!
Thanks for looking!

I'd like to enter this invitation into the challenges

Edinburgh Fringe

Hi all!
Just spent the last couple of afternoons up at The Pleasance & Bristo Square in Edinburgh
taking in the sights sounds & smells of the Fringe!
We managed to snag free tickets to 3 shows!
Talk about being in the right place at The Right Time!

The first was a play called
Splendid Isolation

Simon Usher directs this World premiere of Nick Wards play

adapted from the Heart of Darkness and

Outpost of Progress by Joseph Conrad. A grotesquely dark comedy about

slavery, opium addiction, cartography, madness and abandonment.

Developed as a National Theatre Studio project, Splendid Isolation

has never been publicly performed.

Originally set in the African jungle, it was re-configured to a 19th-century

northwest Australian pearling setting and will be staged for the first time at

the Edinburgh Festival in 2011.

Nick Ward is a three times FringeFirst winner and

Splendid Isolation marks his return to the Edinburgh Festival.

very well written & the acting was excellent!

The Second was
 Tom Allen's Afternoon Tea

The perfect start to your Edinburgh experience! Festival performers

join award-winning Tom Allen for an

anarchic but very civilized hour of parlour games,

 party pieces and chat.

 ‘An absolute must see’ ****

(ThreeWeeks). ‘Delightful’ **** (Chortle.co.uk).
A chat show!
The guests included Ed Byrne & his Baby Son Cosmo!
Lynn Ruth Miller & Bruce Devlin

Third up was
Alzheimers The Musical

See it again and again for the first time!

The oldest swingers are hot to trot with a riotous show of senior

moments and golden oldies.

At Jurassic Park Retirement Home our motto is 'never say die' and ageing

disgracefully is compulsory.

Boogie to hip-replacement-hop, ride with

The Leader of the Geriatric Pack, get

your lippy on for grab-a-granny night!

Don't forget to book! 'Audience guffawed and cheered. Hilarious!'

(Age) 'Wipe away tears of laughter!' (Rainbow-Jeparit Argus) '

Crackles along like grandma's knees on a treadmill!' (www.rhum.org.au)

Melbourne Comedy Festival Award Winner. www.alzheimersthemusical.com

The other show that we saw today was

How to be Awesome - An Introduction

Answering all of life's questions. Plus props. Lou Sanders as seen on BBC3, ITV4 and in your dreams. When you were little and fantasising about what you wanted to be when you grew up ... it was probably this show. 'Destined for hugeness’, ‘Uber-talented', 'Utterly delightful' (Time Out London Critic's Choice). ‘Funny bones and that little bit of sparkle that makes a good performer great' (ITV). 'Lou Sanders had the best comic timing ... Genuinely funny jokes' (ThreeWeeks).

Sunday & No Work Tomorrow!

Good afternoon all you lovely people of Blog!
I hope you are all well!
I'm officially on my holidays although we're staying at home,
so we can spend some time at
I'll post more about that later!

Sunday as ever sees a new challenge over at
The Crafty Pad!

The theme  is "Gone FrUiTy" (lets see some fruit on your cards)
Here's my card

I made an easel card!
The Image I have used is
& the sentiment that I've used for the stop comes as part of it!

Nice & simple but I really love those strawberries, they just cry out summer to me!
Here's how I made it!

I used an A4 sheet of card for the base card,
scored & folded it at a quarter then a half to give me easel base.
I then cut sections of my design paper to decorate.
The paper I've used is from the
I coloured up the image with Promarkers, using umber, gold & green on the seeds!
(Did you know Strawberries are the only fruit that has it's seeds on the outside???)
I then added Diamond Sparkles to the seeds
I cut round the image & mounted it onto a piece of card which I had run through my big shot in a
Cuttlebug Embossing Folder, Swiss Dots!

I also added some red organza ribbon from my stash & some little red flower buttons.

I ran some lace from Dainty Paperie  along the top & bottom sections just to add the finishing touch.
I hope you like it & that you have time to join in our Gone FrUiTy challenge at The Crafty Pad this week!
Don't forget to check out all the other DT ladies fabulous work!
